For truck owners, this issue should start with asset values. Replacement costs for prime movers, trailers, fitted equipment and technology can move quickly, especially when supply chains are tight after a major event. Operators reviewing their policies should pay particular attention to establishing a realistic sum insured, rather than relying on last year's figures.

Truck operators should review sums insured, check exclusions, confirm downtime arrangements and consider how quickly they could return to work after a major weather event. In a market where insurers are becoming more selective, preparation is increasingly part of affordability.
